The new Version 5.0 firmware update is planned to be released in January 2020.Following the Version 4.0 firmware that is being released in June, which includes an HFR license to support 120fps at 4K 2.39:1, 110fps at 4K 17:9, 75fps at 4K 4:3 and 60fps at 6K 3:2, VENICE’s Version 5.0 update will add speeds of up to 90fps at 6K 2.39:1 and 72fps at 6K 17:9/1.85:1.I have the update from Sony downloaded, but I'm not sure what to do now.I don't currently have access to a Windows machine. Power down the PRS-T1 (a full power off to the blank screen). Hold down both the home button and the menu button, and, while keeping them held, press the power button to turn on the PRS-T1. Release the home and menu buttons once the boot screen is shown.
Or you can download the update to your computer and use Sony’s updater utility by following the links below. These instructions were kindly supplied by Linux Reader in this forum post. Download the stand-alone firmware updater file (see below) from Sony's support site. Unzip this file using your favourite unzip utility: 6. The PRS-T1 should now install the update and automatically reboot once done.To date, more than 100 features and episodic productions have been shot on VENICE.The new Version 5.0 firmware will allow the camera to be even more flexible, ultimately increasing its benefit and versatility to all cinematographers The VENICE is starting to be used on a lot more productions.
